04DECK MACHINERY & EQUIPMENT

We don’t just remove and refit equipment; we find which component causes the fault and assess the system with its mechanical, hydraulic and drive elements.

01Which problems do we solve?

  • Is the windlass slipping chain or struggling?
  • Is the windlass or capstan noisy or running hot?
  • Is the passerelle slow, jerky or only half opening?
  • Is the swim platform or garage door not moving?
  • Is the gearbox leaking oil or showing play?
  • Is the tender crane struggling under load?

Beyond replacing the failed part, we assess the whole system.

02Scope of service

Deck machinery & equipment

Mechanical and hydraulic fault finding, maintenance, revision, part replacement, removal/refit and function testing on windlasses, capstans, passerelles and moving platform systems.

  • Windlass systems
  • Capstans and warping winches
  • Passerelle systems
  • Swim and moving platform mechanisms
  • Sea ladders
  • Garage doors
  • Tender cranes
  • Electric motor checks and replacement
  • Hydraulic motors and drive systems
  • Gearbox checks and replacement
  • Shaft and bearing checks
  • Gypsy / chain wheel checks
  • Couplings and mechanical connections
  • Hydraulic cylinders and actuators
  • Hydraulic hoses and connections
  • Valves and control elements
  • Mechanical wear and backlash checks
  • Removal and refitting
  • Maintenance and revision
  • Commissioning and function testing

03How does the system work?

From motor to chain, from power unit to platform.

  1. 01Power source (electric / hydraulic)
  2. 02Motor
  3. 03Gearbox
  4. 04Shaft & bearings
  5. 05Gypsy / mechanism
  6. 06Load

On passerelles and platforms the chain is: power unit → valve → cylinder / actuator → mechanical linkage. Every link is checked separately.

04Our service approach

“From the motor to the gearbox, from the hydraulic line to the mechanical drive — we check the whole system.”

On deck equipment a fault often shows in one part while its cause is in another component. Technical diagnosis, identifying the right part, revision and getting the system safely back into operation — this is system-based technical service, not a simple remove-and-refit job.

05Service process

From survey
to service report.

Our goal is not just to get a system running again, but to hand it over correct and serviceable.

  1. 01

    Fault diagnosis

Operation, noise, movement, leaks and mechanical condition are checked.

  2. 02

    Component check

Motor, gearbox, shaft, bearings, gypsy, hydraulic elements and connections are evaluated individually.

  3. 03

    Solution plan

Parts to be repaired, revised or replaced are identified.

  4. 04

    Implementation

Maintenance, revision, part replacement, removal and installation are carried out.

  5. 05

    Function test

The system is checked under load and all functions are tested.

06Systems / brand examples

We work on windlass, capstan, passerelle, platform and crane systems from different manufacturers, following manufacturer documentation.

07Real applications

08Frequently asked questions

Good
questions.

Can’t find your answer? Just tell us the system and the marina.

Ask a question
How do you tell if the motor or the gearbox is at fault?

Current draw, noise, heat, backlash and behaviour under load are assessed together; motor and gearbox are checked separately to pin down the failed component.

What if the original part is unavailable?

Equivalent parts, revision or suitable fabrication options are evaluated; where system safety is involved, manufacturer data prevails.

Is the equipment tested afterwards?

Yes. The system is checked under load and all functions are tested before handover.
