09FUEL SYSTEMS

We build the fuel system — from the fill to the engine and back through the return line — with a clear flow direction, serviceable and leak-free.

01Which problems do we solve?

  • Is the fuel line drawing air?
  • Is fuel supply to the engine or generator cutting out?
  • Is there a fuel smell or leak on board?
  • Does fuel blow back during filling or overflow from the vent?
  • Are the filters clogging too often?
  • Is it unclear which valve feeds which tank?

We determine whether the problem is the tank, the vent, valves and manifold, filter-separator, transfer pump or line connections — and make the system safe and serviceable again.

02Scope of service

Fuel systems

New installation, revision and leak detection on fuel fill, supply, return and vent lines, transfer pumps, filter and separator connections, valves and tank penetrations.

  • Fuel fill lines
  • Fuel supply lines
  • Fuel return lines
  • Tank vent lines
  • Fuel transfer pumps
  • Fuel filter connections
  • Separator installations
  • Service valves and fuel manifolds
  • Tank connections and penetrations
  • Leak detection
  • Pipe and hose renewal
  • Flow direction and line identification
  • Stainless steel fuel tank production
  • Fuel systems on new-build and refit boats

Our installation principles

  • Clear flow direction and identification on every line
  • Valves positioned for service access
  • Maintenance access to filters and separators
  • Pipe, hose and fittings suitable for fuel
  • Handed over after a tightness test

Materials and installation on fuel systems follow manufacturer requirements and the applicable rules.

03How does the system work?

From the fill to the engine, and back to the tank.

  1. 01Fill
  2. 02Tank & vent
  3. 03Valve / manifold
  4. 04Pre-filter & separator
  5. 05Feed pump
  6. 06Engine / generator
  7. 07Return line → tank

In a fuel system every line should be planned with a clear flow direction, valve position and service access.

04Our service approach

“No guesswork on a fuel line: where every line comes from and where it goes is clear.”

We assess the fuel system together with tanks, vents, valves and manifolds, filter-separators, pumps, engine and generator supply and the return line. Routing, material selection, tightness and service access get the same care on new builds and refits.

05Service process

From survey
to service report.

Our goal is not just to get a system running again, but to hand it over correct and serviceable.

  1. 01

    System check

Tanks, lines, valves, filters and pumps are checked and the line layout is mapped.

  2. 02

    Diagnosis

The source of air ingress, leaks, blockages or supply problems is identified.

  3. 03

    Solution plan

Line renewal, valves / manifold, filter-separator and pump revision are defined.

  4. 04

    Implementation

Piping, hose renewal, connections and installation work are carried out.

  5. 05

    Test & identification

Tightness and supply tests are done; lines are identified with flow direction.

06Systems / brand examples

We work on filter, separator, pump and valve systems from different manufacturers, following manufacturer documentation.

07Real applications

  • Damen — mechanical installation, hydraulics and fuel piping on 2710 HST service catamarans (2019–2020)
  • 2 stainless steel fuel tanks produced
  • Fuel fill, supply and return lines on new-build and refit projects

08Frequently asked questions

Good
questions.

Can’t find your answer? Just tell us the system and the marina.

Ask a question
What causes air in a fuel line?

Loose or cracked fittings, a clogged pre-filter, a damaged filter seal, low tank level or small leaks on the suction side. Air usually enters on the suction side, so fittings and filter housings should be checked systematically.

When should fuel filters be changed?

At the engine and generator manufacturer’s service intervals — earlier if water or sediment shows in the separator or supply weakens.

Do you produce stainless fuel tanks?

Yes. Stainless fuel tanks can be produced and connected to fit the space, with vent, fill, supply, return and level connections planned from the start.
